In order to realise our dreams of a complete and fully functioning Retreat Centre in Golden Bay, we will need assistance and contributions in many many ways. Alongside our working bees, community events, and voluntary working groups, donating your money towards the project is one way to help which we very much appreciate. Fundraising and donations are something that in all honesty we will need in abundance to complete this project!
We also want to emphasise that no donation is too small to make an impact. Any amount is very welcome. You could see your donation as a "Qi gift" to the project, which adds something practical, personal and heartfelt to the project Qifield. At this early stage of the project, with the Ren Xue farm having just been purchased, and the farm operations just getting started, our focus is very much on the farm to ensure it has good healthy foundations. Financially, we are currently able to contemplate building a Stage One Retreat Centre capable of accommodating approximately 50 people (read more about the Retreat Centre plans here).
Whilst donations to any aspect of the Retreat Centre project are appreciated, our main financial needs at the moment are:
- Farm machinery and other infrastructure on the farm to ensure it starts well and runs smoothly from day one.
- Farm social enterprise seed funding - we envisage the farm as a hub for complementary land based social enterprise businesses, which are sustainable and profitable in a way which benefits and cares for all - socially, financially, environmentally - in line with our beacons, and Ren Xue principles. These businesses will need start up funding.
- Retreat Centre construction - infrastructure, buildings, and landscaping to name a few things, this project will be a huge challenge! As a Ren Xue community we have spoken for many years about building a home for Ren Xue - all of our collective effort and contributions will be required to make this happen.
